Share on:

Mary Beth Ritchey, PhD, of RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS) has been awarded fellowship status by the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) Board of Directors. Mary Beth was recommended for this honor by a committee of her peers. She has been a member of ISPE since 2007 and is recognized as having leadership roles in pharmacoepidemiology and being held in high professional standing.
Mary Beth is the Director, Epidemiology, Medical Devices & Real-World Evidence at RTI-HS. In her role, she performs and oversees the scientific, technical, and logistic aspects of studies, including prospective and retrospective noninterventional safety, effectiveness and utilization studies; benefit-risk assessments; and practical application of methodology for real-world studies.

In Mary Beth’s words:

"At this critical time, ISPE has the opportunity to engage a broader audience of researchers interested in capturing use of therapeutics during clinical care.  I will work to engage this broader community, to champion utilization of robust methodologies and to expand our efforts to be a truly world-wide society who care deeply about improving the health of the population.  Given my background in working across sectors (government, industry, service provider, adjunct academic), therapeutic types (high and low risk; drugs; biologics and devices), study types (safety, effectiveness, utilization, benefit-risk), and within ISPE, I hope to be an accessible member who is able to understand the issues and speak from multiple perspectives."

RTI-HS has several other researchers who are ISPE Fellows:

Elizabeth Andrews, PhD, Vice President, Emeritus, Epidemiology
Alejandro Arana, MD, MPH, Senior Director, Epidemiology
Susana Perez-Gutthann, MD, PhD, Vice President, Global Head of Epidemiology
Elena Rivero, MD, Director, Epidemiology
Kenneth Rothman, DrPH, Distinguished Fellow, Vice President of Epidemiology Research

Congratulations Mary Beth!
