RTI-HS Vice President of Health Economics, Josephine Mauskopf, PhD, was named co-chair of the recently-approved International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Economic Evaluation of Vaccines Designed to Prevent Infectious Disease: Good Practices Task Force.
The task force has been convened to provide researchers and health care decision makers with information about economic evaluation methods for estimating the value of new infectious disease vaccination programs. In addition to creating guidance for researchers on good practices for performing and presenting the different types of analyses, the task force will evaluate each method for its relevance for different decision makers. The group will also determine potential circumstances for using complementary methods to demonstrate a more complete value picture for a new vaccine.
ISPOR members will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the outline and key modeling issues during an initial forum scheduled to be held during the ISPOR International meeting May 21-25 in Washington, DC.
