Rudell K, Bennett B, Doward L, Rylands AJ, Rodriguez AM. ISPOR clinical outcome assessment special interest group - new frontiers: valuing COA data and guiding principles for RWE. Presented at the ISPOR 2019 European Conference; November 4, 2019. Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA) Special Interest Group (SIG) would like to update the broader ISPOR membership on the business plan, goals and aims of the working group, as well as share the outcomes of the group’s first initiatives with EU ISPOR attendees in Copenhagen.

The COA SIG’s first two initiatives include: a key project focussing on the value of COA to external stakeholders, and a membership engagement project investigating approaches to standardizing COA for real world (RW) studies. Further initiatives are also envisaged.

The first key project also aims to update the terminology used by COA specialists and to publish this in the updated ISPOR book of terms. The work will involve the review of HTA terminology used for COA from different countries and in order to harmonise the way HEOR scientists and COA specialists describe COA value.

The COA SIG membership engagement project will begin exploring the standardization of COA in RW studies. A virtual roundtable meeting will be conducted with industry colleagues to discuss topics, such as the operationalization and scientific integration of COA in in the RW.

We will discuss the available results of our two initiatives during this forum.
