Patricia Juliao, MPH, PhD, is a Director of Epidemiology in the Pharmacoepidemiology and Risk Management group with RTI-HS. With 15 years of expertise in the field, Dr. Juliao’s work has spanned a variety of therapeutic and disease areas including infectious diseases, renal, lung, autoimmune, vaccines, rare diseases, and maternal/child health. She is experienced in leading large multidisciplinary studies including postauthorization drug safety studies, pregnancy exposure safety studies, trial emulations, vaccine trend analyses, and multiple regulatory submissions using real-world data across the globe.

Prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Juliao served as a director of epidemiology at a large pharmaceutical company, designing and implementing both clinical and real-world studies. She also served as a core member of the Integrated Evidence Generation Strategy Team and Safety Review Team within the company. Prior to that, she served as an epidemic intelligence officer within the Enteric Disease and Safe Water Division at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters and as a neglected disease epidemiologist in the CDC's Regional Office in Latin America. Dr. Juliao has collaborated with multiple internal and external cross-functional teams across the globe and has spearheaded more than 30 evidence generation projects and publications.
